The Time Travelling Detective (2014)
About the show
The Time Travelling Detective was our second production as a part of The Buzz project, which gives 16-19 year olds ultimate creative responsibility for making an original show. Under the guidance of professional mentors, a young writer, director and designer worked with a cast of 11-18 year olds to make this show which premiered at The Station Bristol in April 2014.
Millicent isn’t having a good week – people still don’t believe she can time travel, her detective agency is on the rocks, her office is a mess and worst of all a 10-year old boy called Leo has intruded on her trips to the past. Leo is desperate to travel through time and can’t understand why Millicent won’t let him have fun on their journeys.
Millicent and Leo embark on an epic journey through time, to save history from the plans of an evil villain. Filled with famous figures, exciting places, danger, friendship and cardboard boxes it is an adventure for ages 7+ which questions the way adults think about children and whether some things are worth breaking the rules for.
As they journey through time Millicent begins to see that they’re not as different as she first thought. When disaster strikes, will they be able to prevent a change that could alter both of their lives forever?
